The eighth edition of ForMóbile– International Trade Show for the Furniture and Wood Industries took place July 10-13 at São Paulo Expo, and reinforced its position as one of the main events of the furniture industry in Latin America. With a four-day exhibition, the fair registered the attendance of 59,160 people, who checked the trends and innovations in accessories and components, machinery and equipment, hardware, raw materials and supplies presented by around 500 brands from 13 countries.
In 2018, ForMóbile innovated its format with simultaneous content areas, more than 70 hours of exclusive programming and great audience interaction. Talks, lectures, panels and case presentations on the production of furniture were part of the daily schedule of "ForMóbile Trends" by Siq Marketing–content agency and partner of the event for 4 editions. "Indústria do Futuro" focused on technology and news for the industry and counted on the "Circuito Manufatura do Futuro", a unique experience provided to visitors that brought together automation, robotics and advanced technologies to produce a copy of Tangram, a Chinese puzzle made up of a set of seven pieces.
To add to the triad of contents, "Marcenaria Moderna" talked to professionals in the area about project management issues and hands-on workshops. "Espaço Maker" also debuted as an innovative project through an area prepared for live presentations for the main Youtubers in the furniture and cabinetmaking sector with counter tops, tools and materials, so that the public could experience the production of pieces of furniture.
And finally, in order to contemplate the main raw material of the trade fair, we launched "Espaço Madeira", dedicated to promoting the segment of solid wood in the market. Conceived in partnership with magazine "Referência Industrial" and with the support of ABIMCI (Association of the Mechanically Processed Wood Industry), the network of activities made available to the public on the spot, aimed at enhancing the industry and providing more information on the manufacture of furniture to furniture manufacturers, architects, carpenters and resellers.
In addition to all the attractions, the Top Mobile Award, the industry's only top of mind award that publicly recognizes the efforts that companies and managers are making to solidify their business, has awarded 41 categories in its 13th edition. The result was obtained through a survey of 920 professionals (400 furniture manufacturers and 520 retailers), who pointed out the three brands most remembered by the interviewees among 17 categories of furniture manufacturers and 24 of suppliers in the industry.
Regarding the business generated at ForMóbile, among the exhibiting industries and the foreign market, Sindmóveis– Sindicato das Indústrias do Mobiliário de Bento Gonçalves, once again coordinated Projeto Comprador´s business rounds through the Orchestra Brazil Project, to encourage exports of furniture industry suppliers–promoted in partnership with the Agência Brasileira de Promoção de Exportações e Investimentos (Apex-Brasil). During days 12 and 13, there were 209 meetings among Brazilian companies and importers from eight countries: South Africa, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay and Peru. Business around US$ 230 thousand was generated at ForMóbile, with a forecast of US$ 2,925 million over the next 12 months.
The edition, which ended exceeding the expectations of the public, had as one of the highlights of the fair the quality of the visitation profile, with the effective presence of decision makers in the companies. We have received many positive feedbacks such as: the trade fair has more “soul” and identity. Our efforts and actions are based on research done with exhibitors and visitors, so surely all successful projects implemented in 2018 will be repeated and intensified for years to come. The 9th edition of ForMóbile is already scheduled and will take place from June 30 to July 3, 2020. “Until then, we will be connected 365 days a year with our public.
